St. Stephen Catholic Church at 2711 Mackinaw , Saginaw, MI 48602-3146 US - Praising the Lord in Song: St. Stephen's Choir

An oft-complimented cadre of talented volunteer and professional musicians fills St. Stephen Church with musical praise. At any given Mass, a key is played, a note is struck or a voice is raised. The people behind the instruments and those claiming the voices are dedicated to enhancing the Liturgy through music. Dennis Owens, Director of Music since 1996 (but affiliated with the music at St. Stephen Parish, off and on, since 1972), assembles the talents of cantors, instrumentalists, and a 30-voice choir. The choir practices Tuesday evenings for 90 minutes. In addition to the weekly Mass schedule, their voices are the featured at special liturgies throughout the year: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday, as well as Thanksgiving Day, two Masses on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
